About Me

I am an Astrophysicist, with a keen interest in the life of supermassive black holes and their interplay with their surrounding & their host galaxies.

I am currently working as a post-doctorate researcher at the Astronomy Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences, and as ALMA Support Scientist for the Czech Node of the European ALMA Regional Center.

I was born and brought up in Pune, India, and finished my undergraduate education from Fergusson College, Pune and masters in physics from the University of Pune. During my masters, I also worked at the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA) in Pune as a summer student and for my masters thesis.

I moved to Germany for my PhD, when I was selected to be part of the International Max Planck Research School at Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy in Bonn. During my PhD I worked with Prof. Andreas Eckart at the University of Cologne on the radio observations of Sagittarius A*, the supermassive black hole at the Center of the Milky Way. After completing my PhD, I moved to Prague, Czech Republic for a postdoc, and have been working here since August 2016.

If you find some of my past or current work & writing interesting, I would be happy to discuss, and maybe build a new project in collaboration. If you have any questions, comments or would like to get in touch for any other reason, please feel free to contact me.
